I took a quick look at the momentum leaderboard today—AKE is up more than five times over seven days. But I don’t feel like chasing it at all. Do you feel the same?
The strongest momentum names: AKE +561%, BANK +108%, KAITO +50%, STAR +46%. Looks lively, right? The main force is all small-cap coins with market values of just a few million. I usually just swipe past.
Focus on trading volume spikes: FLOCK has a volume ratio of 38x, MANTRA 20x. Coins with a volume ratio over 20x—old vets all know—either it’s a real launch, or it’s a precursor to a pump-and-dump before the sell-off. It’s one of the two.
My take: mostly stand by. $BTC is currently at 83400, down 1.2% in the last 24h; $ETH is weaker, down 1.9%. The broader market hasn’t stabilized—no matter how strong the momentum in small coins is, it’s just castles in the air. Today I choose not to chase; I’ll wait for this pullback to confirm the bottom first.
