Is this little bit of $DOGE going to kick off a trip to the sky????
DOGE ETF sets its biggest weekly inflow since listing; is the capital logic behind DOGE starting to change?
U.S. spot DOGE ETFs saw net inflows of about $2.89 million for the week ending September 25, setting a record high since listing and surpassing the previous record of about $2.59 million. More notably, the prior week’s DOGE ETF net inflow was only about $280,000, so the recent inflow has clearly expanded.
But this data should not be simply interpreted as “institutions are starting to buy DOGE aggressively.” At present, funds are highly concentrated in Grayscale’s GDOG, with the latest week’s new money mainly flowing into that product; meanwhile, Bitwise’s DOGE ETF BWOW is also scheduled to stop trading and be liquidated on October 14. In other words, the DOGE ETF market is showing clear divergence in fund flows.
For DOGE’s price, the significance of continued ETF inflows is that it provides a legitimate channel for traditional capital to allocate to meme assets. If there are consecutive weeks of net inflows ahead, and DOGE spot trading volume and open interest expand in sync, then this inflow may shift from a short-term event into a trend-based capital signal.
However, the current scale of $2.89 million is still not large. Compared with the roughly $239 million in inflows into U.S. spot BTC ETFs during the same period, the DOGE ETF remains very small in size.
So I am paying more attention to two signals: first, whether DOGE ETFs can keep seeing consecutive net inflows; second, whether DOGE can regain a firm footing above $0.10 and break out with volume. If ETF inflows persist and DOGE breaks through key resistance, the capital activity in the meme sector may rise further; otherwise, if ETF inflows quickly fade, this record is more likely just a temporary capital pulse.
What do you think: is this record DOGE ETF inflow a sign of a new round of meme rally, or just a short-term capital event?
