The attacking parties behind the Bitget exchange attack have reportedly transferred about $83 million worth of XRP stolen from three holding wallets, while roughly $75 million remains in accounts that cannot be frozen under the network’s current regulations. According to what Sina Finance reported, nearly 103 million XRP was stolen from Bitget on Thursday and distributed across five accounts.
A review of XRP Ledger records showed that by Saturday at 12:41 UTC, two accounts that initially held 20 million XRP each had dropped to about 23 tokens and 55 tokens, respectively. The balance of the third account fell to around 5.8 million XRP.
Circle and Tether froze about $320,000 in stablecoins linked to the attack. XRP traded at about $1.54 on Saturday, down roughly 4% over the past 24 hours, but still up about 9% over the week, according to CoinGecko data.
