In prediction markets, the probability that “BTC will set a new all-time high again before December 31, 2026” is only about 7%–8%.
When many people see this number, they immediately interpret it as: the market is bearish on BTC.
Actually, it’s not entirely that.
This contract isn’t betting on the year-end closing price; it’s betting whether, in the remaining time this year, BTC will have any minute in which it can refresh the all-time high. The current price is around $84,000, while the prior peak was around $126,000, meaning it needs to create nearly 50% upside within three months.

The market is assigning a low probability, but more importantly it’s pricing in the “time difficulty”: it’s not that BTC can’t rise—it’s that completing such a huge breakout within a limited time isn’t easy.
It also can’t replace market analysis and judgment.
If risk appetite strengthens later on, spot funds continue to flow back, and prices regain and hold above key support/resistance levels, the probability could change very quickly; conversely, if the rebound keeps getting capped, this bet that “there won’t be new highs within the year” will become even more acceptable to the market.
So what you really should look at isn’t the 92% figure itself, but whether the market has introduced any new changes that are sufficient to overturn it.
