$SHELL | What does RSI really measure?

RSI, or the Relative Strength Index, measures the speed and magnitude of recent price fluctuations on a scale from 0 to 100. Simply put, it compares how much the price has risen versus how much it has fallen over a number of recent candles, calculated here over 6 periods.

On the 1-hour timeframe, SHELL’s RSI(6) is currently 36.58, which is a relatively low level on the 0–100 scale. On the 4-hour timeframe, the figure is slightly higher, at 41.94.

No number by itself tells you what will happen next; it only indicates the degree of recent price volatility over the last 6 candles of that specific timeframe.
