Learning crypto from scratch — Day 14 📚
A blockchain doesn’t need all the computers to “trust” each other. It needs rules so they can all reach the same result.
That’s a consensus mechanism.
In $BTC , Proof of Work makes miners compete using computing power.
In $ETH y other networks, Proof of Stake uses validators who put up assets as collateral and can be penalized if they act against the rules.
Two different models to answer the same question:
How do we achieve a shared ledger without a central authority deciding which version is correct?
That’s where I started to understand that blockchain doesn’t eliminate trust: it changes how it’s built.
