85,032 dollars. In the instant BTC “collided” with the resistance, the short positions that got liquidated were more than the longs—right at this point, who still dares to rush in and short?

The data is laid out clearly: 7-day up 5.6%, 30-day up 9.1%, 90-day up 41%. At the current price, you’re only 2% away from the previous high at 86.6k. This isn’t a value-buy rebound—it’s a pullback testing the resistance level.

On the derivatives side, there’s no sign of疯狂疯狂加杠杆. Total open interest across the market is $154.5 billion, up only 1.6% in a day. Meanwhile, the 24-hour derivatives trading volume actually fell by nearly 40%—money isn’t pouring in wildly. Funding rates are also not “hot”: OKX’s BTC perpetual funding rate is still negative, and the weighted funding only barely turned positive. Bulls aren’t being roasted on the rack.

Now look at liquidations: in the past 24 hours, total net liquidations across the whole network were $147.8 million. Shorts got wrecked far worse than longs. And BTC itself also saw more long liquidations—this is a squeeze, not longs getting buried. BTC dominance is 58.7%. The money is still mostly sitting in BTC; it hasn’t spilled out into altcoins.

Macro is actually a headwind: long-term yields are relatively high, and the U.S. dollar is strong—theoretically, that should pressure risk assets. But BTC has held up and didn’t drop. That’s the signal worth paying attention to—not the integer-level threshold itself.

For the short term, I’m leaning bullish—it’s not like anyone is piling on leverage to chase the highs. The shorts are getting hit harder than the longs, and fees haven’t caught fire. This is an uptrend built on stable fundamentals, not one propped up by pure sentiment. If there’s going to be a real flip, it would take only one situation: if the dollar and yields stop being background noise and truly coordinate to slam price down—clearing out the positions that were never supported by much leverage in the first place. Then it’s when you can start looking bearish. If near-term capital really starts to leak out, liquid main coins with good liquidity like ETH and SOL would likely receive it first; the tail-end altcoins will have to wait a bit longer.
