Iran insists on diplomacy after Trump rejects
a peace plan for Hormuz
Iran said that diplomacy remains the only way to end its dispute with the United States and Israel, after President Donald Trump rejected Tehran’s proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and halt fighting in the region, according to Reuters.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is still conditional on meeting Tehran’s demands, adding that Iran is waiting for the mediators to officially inform it of Washington’s position.
Iran had submitted its proposal during meetings of the UN General Assembly and relayed it to the United States through Qatari intermediaries.
