$GenLayer isn’t building another generic public chain. Instead, it fills a missing piece in the AI Agent economy that’s been lacking for a long time: the Deciding Layer.
In simple terms: when two or more Agents agree on a job, but the delivery results don’t match—does the interface meet the requirements, does the content count as fulfilled, and how should the web evidence be interpreted—traditional smart contracts can’t handle these subjective judgment problems, and courts are too slow and too expensive. GenLayer uses a group of verification nodes running different models to independently reason about the same case, then produces an on-chain result based on consensus. In common scenarios, it takes about dozens of minutes and costs very little—basically equipping Agent transactions with an “internet courtroom.”
As more Agent protocols and payment layers emerge, disagreements will increase as well. Payments, identity, and interoperability are all being built out, but what’s often truly missing is who will adjudicate after a dispute happens. The project raised $7.5 million in the seed round. Investors include North Island Ventures, Arrington Capital, and the Arthur Hayes family office Maelstrom. The official timeline for the mainnet and token nodes is 2026 Q4. Right now, the community is mainly accumulating GLP points in Portal.
Points don’t equal a confirmed Airdrop, and the project hasn’t pinned the TGE date. It’s suitable as a low-cost prelude, not for expecting an automatic guarantee.
