Deep Tide TechFlow message, on September 27, according to a post by Mysterious Mist founder Yu Xian ( @evilcos ), the funding flow behind the Bitget theft incident has been linked to North Korean hacker traces. Circle and Tether have promptly frozen the stablecoin assets held by the hackers. However, THORChain refused to respond to Bitget CEO Gracy’s request to block the attackers’ addresses, citing “decentralization with no authority to intervene,” and likened itself to Bitcoin and Ethereum—an action that drew strong industry criticism. Yu Xian pointed out that THORChain had previously quickly activated its intervention mechanism when it was itself hacked; this double standard raises doubts. Decentralization should not be used as a shield to enjoy hacker fees without accountability.
