On September 24, the RWA sector marked a milestone event! Ondo officially launched Intelligent Portfolios, introducing three tokenized investment portfolios supported by strategies from BlackRock: BLKHIon (High Yield), BLKDIGon (Multi-Asset Growth), and BLKGRWon (High Growth).
This is not a product directly issued by BlackRock. Instead, it is a “non-discretionary” model portfolio tailored by BlackRock according to the specifications provided by Ondo. BlackRock’s boundaries are clearly defined: it provides model support only and does not get involved in the on-chain portfolio management, tokenization, issuance, distribution, custody, or operations.
Key highlights of how it works:
By purchasing these three products, you are buying “a single token.” Minting or redeeming that token corresponds to the underlying basket of tokenized stocks and ETFs. The holdings, weights, and each time the portfolio is rebalanced are all publicly visible on-chain. Even more flexibly, these tokens can move freely between wallets, exchanges, and DeFi.
Ian De Bode, Acting CEO of Ondo, said that this kind of portfolio has never really been on-chain before. At present, the product is available only to qualified investors outside the United States and in approved regions.
