$XRP is the next hundredfold opportunity??? Hold on—hackers have already made a move.
CoinDesk 9/26: In the suspected Bitget hack, about 103 million XRP were stolen, with roughly 54 million XRP (about $83 million) moved out from holding wallets; the original five counterparties are said to have about 49 million XRP remaining (about $75 million), and native XRP cannot be frozen by Ripple. Circle/Tether only froze about $320,000 worth of related stablecoins. Bitget’s estimated total loss is about $387.5 million. The protection fund will cover the gap, and withdrawals are planned to resume in phases from 9/28 to 10/2.
On Binance, the XRPUSDT perpetual is around 1.5194, opened at 1.5673, with a high of 1.5804 and a low of 1.5006. In the past 24h, it’s about -3.06%. Trading volume is about $825 million (U), with open interest around 315 million XRP (about $479 million U). Funding rate is about +0.0010%.
CoinGecko market cap is about $95.6 billion, ranking around #5, and over the last 7 days it’s about +8.1%.
My take: The narrative is a risk event, not a positive—funds are being moved. The market first drops roughly -3%, but $800M+ in trading volume suggests liquidity is still there. Don’t take “can’t be frozen” as a sign that price will definitely get hammered through—watch the exchange’s withdrawal checkpoints more closely.
What do you think about the unusual volatility this time around for $XRP ? Feel free to leave a comment and discuss.
