🚨 Funding AERO +128%/year: The long side is toughing it out!
Hot on-chain news from this morning really surprised me! The funding rate (position-maintenance fee) is at an extremely high level, up to ~+0.0146% per hour, equivalent to +128% per year. That means the long side (those betting prices will go up) has to pay very high fees to the short side (those betting prices will go down).
Open Interest (total open positions) of is at around ~$37.09M, while 24h trading volume is only ~$12.34M, and the price has risen 5.6% over the past day. This clearly shows the long side is very bullish and has the upper hand, but it’s also under enormous pressure from funding fees.
