Overnight Recap: In the past 24 hours, online crypto contracts saw liquidations totaling $116 million, with 53,428 positions wiped out.

ZEC liquidated $12.6 million (93% were short positions). ETH liquidated $11.67 million (long/short split 65/35). Together, the two coins accounted for 21% of all liquidations worldwide.

One easily overlooked figure: QNT liquidated 2,758 orders—more than ZEC’s 2,179 orders—yet the amount was only one-third of ZEC’s. That’s an average of $1,762 per order, while ZEC is $5,782.

That kind of market is packed with small-amount, high-leverage positions. One needle-like move can trigger a chain reaction that clears a whole batch. The number of trades looks terrifying, but in reality it reflects a high density of retail positions amplified by leverage—not large funds moving.

The most brutal single trade: OKX ETHUSDT long position, $1.34 million, cleared to zero in one go.
