At current prices, 1 BTC is roughly $84,000. That means the prize for winning this knife-throwing duel is higher than the yearly winnings of many professional players.
What Coinbase did here is essentially to tie crypto assets to mainstream gaming culture, using the most absurd way possible to achieve the most straightforward brand exposure. Compared with issuing a formal announcement like “We support the Web3 gaming ecosystem,” this “Mundo throwing a knife to win Bitcoin” spreads far more effectively.
