Solana Alpenglow is already live on two public test networks ⚡
Solana continues to move forward with Alpenglow, one of the most important updates planned to improve the speed and efficiency of its blockchain.
The update is already running on both devnet and testnet, where developers are testing its performance ahead of a possible mainnet launch.
One of Alpenglow’s main goals is to reduce transaction finality time from approximately 12.8 seconds down to just 150 milliseconds, which could especially improve payments, exchanges, DeFi applications, and cross-blockchain bridges.
For now, there is no official date for its mainnet release. In addition, the 150 ms target still needs to be proven under real usage conditions, so the test results will be key before any definitive rollout. ⚡📊
