PANews, citing U.S. financial journalist Eleanor Terrett’s post on X, said that U.S. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce will step down on October 2, ending nearly nine years in the role. She will join the U.S. Regent University School of Law in November as an associate professor. She has long supported a clearer regulatory framework for crypto, earning her the nickname “Crypto Mom” in the market. After her departure, the SEC will have only two members left: Chairman Paul Atkins and Commissioner Mark Uyeda. From an overall perspective, on one hand, one of the most stable internal crypto-friendly voices is leaving; on the other, the market will still need to track how the next appointees and rule-advancement pace unfold. Regarding expectations for rules on BTC, ETH and digital assets, staking, ETFs, and the boundaries of enforcement, a reshuffling is likely to occur more easily next.
