🚨 BITGET SECURITY INCIDENT — LATEST UPDATE
Bitget has released new details following the major security incident detected on September 24.
🔴 What happened?
Unauthorized transfers affected approximately $387.5M across multiple networks, including Ethereum/EVM chains, XRP Ledger, Zcash and TRON.
The figure was revised upward after further on-chain tracing and does not represent a second attack.
🔐 Current status
Bitget says the incident is contained, the vulnerability has been remediated and no further unauthorized transfers are possible. Cold wallets were not affected.
The exchange says user assets remain protected while investigation and recovery efforts continue.
🟢 Withdrawals are returning
Bitget announced a phased restoration:
• BTC — Sep 28, 08:00 UTC
• ETH — Sep 29
• USDT — Sep 30
• Other assets, fiat & P2P — by Oct 2
Withdrawals will therefore reopen gradually rather than all at once while additional security checks are completed.
