This trade involved two round-trips. First, I built a long position in batches around 1.183. When the price pulled back further, I added more. When it bounced up to around 1.189, I cut about three-quarters first. Later, as the price fell again, I bought back in batches around 1.179 to 1.1735. Finally, I waited for the bounce to above 1.18 and gradually exited.
Over the course of two hours, it looks like only a few cents’ worth of movement. In reality, it went through opening the position, reducing it, buying it back, and finally closing it. In the first round, I took partial profits, and I didn’t require selling the last round back exactly at the prior high point.
What’s worth keeping is taking profit in batches, but adding to the position on pullbacks also amplifies risk. This time I caught the rebound—but it doesn’t mean you can always wait for a rebound. The profits go into the account; the amount of risk taken during the process must be remembered together.
