Gold High-Level Long Positions Unwinding Strategy:

After gold’s single-direction pullback from the peak around 4383, the maximum retracement on the 2-hour timeframe has been nearly 140 points down to 4244. Long positions entered above 4300 have generally fallen into drawdown. The current price has rebounded to around 4285, and you are now entering a critical window for unwinding. You can apply a graded approach based on how deep the positions are trapped:

Light Traps (Longs at 4300–4320): When price rebounds to the 4300–4310 resistance zone, cut 70% first. The remaining portion holds a stop-loss at 4270 to bet on a breakout; if price is under pressure, close everything. Then, with a light position, consider reversing and placing a short to cover.

Medium Traps (Longs at 4330–4360): Cut 50% near 4300 first. If price pulls back to 4250–4260, buy back to do a swing trade and lower the average entry price. If 4244 breaks down decisively, stop out immediately.

Deep Traps (Longs above 4360): Cut 30% first at 4300 to control risk. For the remaining position, sell high and buy low within the 4250–4300 range to reduce losses; do not blindly add to positions.

Core of Unwinding: First control risk, then reduce cost. Unless and until the trend has truly reversed, never stubbornly hold on (fighting the market). Rigorously follow stop-loss discipline.
