THE COCOA, THE CASHEW, THE RUBBER TREE AND THE COTTON, THEIR PROCESSED PRODUCTS ARE SOLD 20 TO 30 TIMES MORE EXPENSIVELY ELSEWHERE. AND IF WE TOKENIZED TRANSFORMATION
We are the world’s leading producer of cocoa, the leading African producer of cashew, and among the top producers of cotton and rubber in the continent. Everywhere the same pattern: we export raw, and it’s elsewhere that we process, brand, and capture the margin.
The producer, whatever their sector, sells raw. No access to capital to set up their own processing unit, no access to the revenues from the finished product.
Meanwhile, instead of waiting for a bank or a foreign fund to come finance the plant, we open up its ownership to thousands of small investors through digital shares (tokens) on the blockchain. Each person puts in what they can—25,000F, 100,000F, 1 million—and they become co-owners of a share of the factory and receive their share of the profits automatically, with no notary for every transfer.
A processing unit that costs 500 million to set up is not something anyone expects from a single investor. But 10,000 Ivorian people at 50,000F each—that’s 500 million. And 10,000 people who have an interest in the factory running well: cocoa, cashew, rubber, or cotton.
Ghana is moving on cocoa, Benin on cotton. We have the raw materials and the workforce across all four value chains at the same time. What’s missing is the financial vehicle.
That’s where I want, with respect, to address the Ministry of Economy, the BRVM, and the CREPMF.
Our value chains don’t lack raw materials; they lack a tool to turn local savings into productive capital.
And if, instead of letting this savings sit in rotating savings and credit associations or going into speculative real estate, we created a framework to tokenize:
1. Agricultural processing units (cocoa, cashew, hevea, cotton)
2. Rural storage and logistics infrastructure
3. Agricultural cooperatives, in digital shares
A single production hub equipped with a tokenized unit means local jobs, value added that stays in the country, and thousands of small shareholders—from south to north, from the center to the west.
As they say: "We’re sitting on gold and asking for alms."
So I’ll ask you, straight to the point:
If you were given the opportunity to invest starting from 25,000F in a tokenized asset in Côte d’Ivoire, what would you choose?
1 - Transformation of cocoa
2 - Cashew peeling
3 - Processing of rubber (hevea)
4 - Cotton spinning mill
5 - Agricultural cooperative
Put your choice in the comments.
I’m going to set up WhatsApp groups by city and by sector to push for a real approach with the authorities.
