【Bitget announces phased resumption of withdrawals starting September 28, with security vulnerability fixed】

Bitget confirmed that the vulnerability involved in the recent security incident has been identified and patched. The platform announced that it will begin restoring user withdrawal functionality in phases starting September 28. The platform emphasized that the suspension of withdrawals is solely a safety measure; users’ account balances are not affected, and trading and deposits remain operational as usual. Any financial losses will be covered by Bitget’s protection fund. Mandiant and SlowMist are currently assisting with the follow-up investigation.

The withdrawal resumption schedule is as follows: at 16:00 on September 28 (UTC+8), BTC withdrawals will be enabled (Bitcoin network); at 16:00 on September 29, ETH withdrawals will be enabled (covering the Ethereum, BSC, Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism chains); at 16:00 on September 30, USDT withdrawals will be enabled (covering the Ethereum, BSC, Solana, and Tron chains); at 16:00 on October 2, other tokens, fiat, and P2P transactions will be enabled.

For the market, security incidents at leading exchanges typically trigger short-term swings in trust. Bitget’s clear statements that the “vulnerability has been fixed” and that “losses will be covered by the protection fund” can help stabilize user sentiment, but the actual pace of fund outflows still needs to be monitored. As BTC, ETH, and USDT are the first assets to resume withdrawals, on-chain transfer volumes and changes in exchange balances will be key indicators to watch going forward.
