Ethereum breaks through $2,700— is the real market just beginning?
ETH has regained the $2,700 level again, and this move shouldn’t be seen as a mere rebound.
Previously, ETH repaired from below $2,400 all the way up, reclaiming $2,500 and $2,600, and now it has pushed through $2,700. This suggests the bulls are progressively regaining key price zones. More importantly, capital is starting to cooperate.
In recent days, U.S. spot ETH ETFs have seen consecutive net inflows. On September 24 alone, the net inflow was about $66.1 million, and over the past five trading days the cumulative figure has nearly reached $750 million. In other words, this ETH rally is no longer just short-term capital from the crypto market—traditional investors are also providing a certain level of support.
But the most crucial question is here: is $2,700 a new starting point, or is it another spike followed by a pullback?
ETH previously surged toward the $2,800 area and then retraced, indicating that there is still clear sell pressure in the $2,700–$2,800 range. Now, if ETH can continue to consolidate above $2,700 and turn $2,700 from a resistance level into a support level, then the market’s focus in the next phase will naturally shift toward $2,800 and even $3,000.
From a technical structure perspective, what truly needs to be broken above $2,700 is around $2,800. Reuters’ technical analysis earlier regarded $2,775–$2,825 as a potential consolidation zone, and noted that if it breaks through that area, the technical target could extend further to around $3,050.
However, don’t ignore the risks: if ETH falls back below $2,700 and further breaks down through the $2,600–$2,550 zone, then this breakout could turn into a false breakout, and earlier long positions may start taking profits.
So what’s worth watching now isn’t “how much ETH has risen,” but whether $2,700 can transform from just a price level into a new market consensus.
If ETF capital continues to flow in, ETH holds $2,700, and ultimately breaks above $2,800, then ETH’s market narrative may shift again—from “tracking a BTC rebound” to “ETH strength on its own.”
And once ETH truly holds above $2,800, $3,000 will likely become the central focus of market discussion again.
Do you think ETH can truly break through $2,800 this time, or will there be another large wave of profit-taking above $2,700? $ETH
