๐ Litecoin (LTC): relative strength increases versus Bitcoin
LTC gained momentum.
And it wasnโt just in price.
The LTC/BTC pair is at 0.00084888 BTC, practically flat on the day, but it has accumulated +20.04% over 7 days and +33.67% over 30 days.
In dollars, LTC reached its highest level in eight months, up 16.35% alongside record volume in 2026.
But thereโs a catch.
Open interest in futures rose to about US$ 670 million, near the annual peak of US$ 690 million. In just two days, roughly US$ 140 million more was added to open positions.
This shows more market participation.
But it also increases leverage exposure.
On the other side, Litecoin spot ETFs in the US reached around 175,000 LTC in holdings, a new record. LTCC, from Canary Capital, added approximately 39,000 LTC.
And hereโs the size difference:
the most recent ETF inflow was about US$ 2.8 million, while open interest grew approximately US$ 270 million over the same interval.
In practice, the current move seems to weigh more on derivatives than on ETF flows.
On the daily chart, LTC also went through the 0.5 Fibonacci retracement at US$ 62.09 and the 0.618 level at US$ 67.47, and then tested the US$ 75 region.
The RSI hit 81, signaling strength, but also short-term overbought conditions.
So the point isnโt just to know whether LTC gained strength.
Itโs to understand how much of this move came from real demand and how much came from leverage.
