#Cosmos Governance Attack Aftermath
The attacker’s 1.73 million $ATOM cross-chain tokens were moved into the Cosmos Hub, but the chain itself was not breached. After the halting, the 1,227,121 ATOM left behind were placed into a 4/6 multisig jointly managed by six parties including Nansen and Keplr, and validators restarted the network using Gaia v28.3.0.
This money can’t be moved for now—it has to wait for governance proposal authorization that Neutron’s team is expected to submit within the coming week. If the proposal is delayed by a day, the ATOM in the multisig will be locked for an additional day, and the timetable for reclaiming $ATOM ’s circulating supply will also be pushed back.
