9.25 Fri Man Gold Midnight Review:

Gold first rose and then fell within the day. In the Asian session, it moved in a narrow range. In the European session, it climbed to $4315.78/oz, but the upward momentum was lost. Before the U.S. session, it quickly plunged and gave back all of the gains, with the low at $4254.46. Toward the close, it rebounded slightly and traded around $4280. The full-day range exceeded 60 points, with intense battles between bulls and bears.

On the news front, the market still has disagreements about the Fed’s rate-cut timetable. The U.S. Dollar Index oscillated at high levels. Meanwhile, geopolitical risk-aversion sentiment cooled, and profit-taking from elevated levels gathered momentum. In addition, trading liquidity was thin due to the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and there was insufficient inflow of new funds, which amplified intraday volatility.

Technically, at the 15-minute level, price surged and then pulled back. It broke below the short-term moving averages. The Bollinger Bands shifted from expansion to contraction. Strong resistance is forming around 4290–4300, while 4255 is a key support level. In the short term, the market is in a corrective phase after an upswing.

Trading reference: Buy in batches on pullbacks in the 4260–4280 area, with targets at 4300 and 4350.
