Read on Odaily: The European Banking Authority (EBA) has replied to the MiCA amendments consultation—suggesting that the regulatory scope be expanded further. More third-country issuers, stablecoins, crypto-asset classification, crypto lending, and even crypto service providers helping users access DeFi lending protocols all want to be included in the scope.

The EBA believes the current framework for Asset-Referenced Tokens (ART) and Electronic Money Tokens (EMT) is broadly workable, but that multi-issuer stablecoins carry higher risks. It recommends considering stricter rules and reviewing the requirements for reserve assets. As of September 1, there are 39 types of EMT issued under MiCA, while no ART has yet been authorized.

Once lending and DeFi access are added to the regulatory list, the compliance boundary in Europe is pushed forward another notch.#加密监管 #MiCA #DeFi
