Recently I saw Cathie Wood’s ARK tokenize venture capital funds, bring them on-chain, including allocations to OpenAI and Anthropic. Is that interesting?

In the past, ordinary people couldn’t even get near these unicorns. Now, through tokenization, the barrier is dismantled by one full layer. ARK chose Ethereum for the first launch—simple logic: Ethereum’s ecosystem is the most mature. When institutions come in, they don’t have to start building infrastructure from zero. This isn’t something you can summarize with a single phrase like “bullish for ETH.” Someone is using real money to vote for ETH, telling people outside the space, “This chain can carry real assets.”
A Bitwise report also confirms another fact: institutions choose to hold when there’s a 50% drawdown—they don’t run. What does that imply? Their logic isn’t, “Will they get trapped at this level?” It’s, “Does this have long-term value?” The more people adopt this mindset, the firmer the support at the bottom becomes.
Of course, I’m not telling you to buy. In 2017, I believed, “Institutions are coming, so it’s stable.” What happened afterward? Reality is more complicated than the story.
But one thing I do agree with: with ETH right now, the story isn’t finished—it’s just that the audience has changed.
