[Dropped 87% so it’s a bargain? Are you sure?]
A lot of people see DOGE down 87% from its peak and the first thought that pops into their heads is, “Snag a bargain.” Bargain—how do you judge that?
$ 0.0954, up 13% over seven days, and now it’s stuck just below the resistance at $ 0.099, not daring to move. Trading volume is also surging unusually—someone is buying and selling big. This thing is about to pick a direction.
If you think, “It dropped a lot, so it should be rising,” I believed that too back in 2017. Remember what happened after—guess how that turned out? I’m left doubting my life.
Back to DOGE—this drop is related to Musk’s post this time, but it’s not the whole story. BTC broke below $ 84000, and the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield has shot to the highest level since 2007. That’s a signal of tightening liquidity. When money gets tighter, every asset has to squeeze out “excess water”—no one gets to sit out.
So what about DOGE’s own story?
I looked around and didn’t see anything genuinely new. The essence of a meme coin is sentiment and attention. Sentiment comes and goes quickly, and attention is the least stable thing. Without real-world applications backing it up, a big drop doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve hit the bottom—it might just be halfway down the mountain.
I’m not saying you can’t play DOGE. I’m saying you can’t try to copy this one just because it’s “cheap.” When the sentiment is there and the news flow cooperates, it can rip up at any time. But you don’t know when, and you don’t know whether it will simply dump right back after the rally.
I’ve seen far too many people make money off “roller-coaster” trades in the 2021 bull market—account numbers climb, then fall back down, and in the end you’re left with an empty seat.
So for now, I’m basically watching from the sidelines. I’m watching the volume—whether $ 0.099 can break upward with volume. Other than that, nothing else.
What’s everyone’s mindset right now? Do you still believe the “it fell a lot, so it should rise” narrative? If you’ve got positions, tell me what you plan to do?
