🇨🇮 I use Binance P2P in Côte d'Ivoire, and here is a situation I noticed regarding payments made by third parties.

⚠️ P2P sellers, be very careful when the payment comes from someone other than the buyer.

It can happen that individuals use Binance accounts that are created or controlled on behalf of people who want to buy crypto as part of an activity or an investment site.

The problem may appear later:

The person who bought the crypto eventually discovers that they were the victim of a scam.

However, in their chats or in the payment evidence, they may only know the P2P seller and the phone number they used to make their payment.

They may then report that number to the authorities.

🚨 The P2P seller, who thought they were simply carrying out a normal transaction, may then be contacted, questioned, or be required to explain the origin of the transaction, even though they claim they don’t know the people behind the scam.

That is why payments made by third parties can pose a significant risk for P2P merchants.

📌 A few precautions:
✅ Check the payer’s name;
✅ Avoid payments from a third party when the platform’s rules don’t allow them;
✅ Keep proof of every transaction;
✅ Never ask a customer to send the money from someone else’s account;
✅ In case of an unusual situation, use Binance’s procedures rather than continuing the transaction.

A P2P merchant must think not only about receiving their money, but also about being able to clearly explain each transaction.

Have you ever encountered this kind of situation in Côte d'Ivoire?
