Bitget Provides Update on $352M Security Incident
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the assets affected in the incident include $ETH , XRP, BNB, AVAX, $USDT , USDC, and other tokens, with the $XRP Ledger recording the largest single-chain loss.
The affected networks include Ethereum, XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism, BSC, and Base.
According to Foresight News, all on-chain cold wallets have been confirmed safe and were not affected.
Bitget has contacted the foundations of all affected networks, with some already confirming that they have frozen the hacker-controlled wallet addresses. The exchange said it is pursuing every available recovery channel and will continue providing updates.
Bitget also stated that its Protection Fund exceeds $464 million, held in publicly verifiable wallets, while the company’s own assets exceed $1 billion. User assets are reportedly backed 1:1, with the relevant holdings verifiable on-chain.
The exchange said its priority is to complete the recovery process as quickly as possible. A specific recovery timeline will be announced once it is confirmed.
Bitget added that it will not provide deadlines it cannot confidently meet.
