According to Sina Finance, an internal memo showed that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has made a new arrangement for the company’s public affairs leadership. Microsoft President Brad Smith will take over the company’s communications department, which was previously overseen by Chief Marketing Officer Takeshi Numoto. The move means corporate communications will be coordinated by an executive who has served as Microsoft’s public-facing voice on regulation, geopolitics, AI governance, and other issues affecting the company’s global expansion. Microsoft’s current chief communications officer, Frank Shaw, recently announced that he will leave at the end of this year.
