Originally, USDT appeared on Bitcoin in 2014 via Omni ā an additional protocol on top of the network. In 2023, Tether stopped minting the stablecoin through it. Now the company plans to issue it via RGB, which is referred to as a native integration: users will be able to store and transfer USDT together with BTC in a single wallet, with greater privacy.
