The 9th Mid-Autumn Festival I’ve spent with crypto, the 3rd time under Binance’s Moon-Viewing
“From the sea, the bright moon rises; across the horizon, we share this moment.”
This Mid-Autumn Festival, I did some careful counting: from the first time I heard about crypto in 2018, to 2026—this is the 9th Mid-Autumn Festival I’ve spent together with the crypto world; and since I started using Binance officially in 2024, this is my 3rd Mid-Autumn Festival on Binance. The first six years were like watching the moon through the porthole, and only in the last three years did I truly step onto the ship.
In 2018, the first time I heard someone mention “Bitcoin.” A friend said it was “decentralized.” I thought “decentralized” meant you didn’t need to go to a mobile shop. That Mid-Autumn Festival, while I was biting into five-nut mooncakes, I searched, “Is Bitcoin a scam?” Half the results said it would have a future, and the other half said it would go to zero. I didn’t buy, but I remembered one term: private key. Later I understood— a private key isn’t a WiFi password; if you lose it, you can’t just call customer service.
From 2019 to 2023, the market cycled through bull and bear. I watched the candlesticks from the sidelines, like watching the tides. Some people got rich overnight; others went quiet. I hoarded a bunch of terms: wallet, public chain, Gas, stablecoin, airdrops. I didn’t build a wallet, but I didn’t skimp on mooncakes. The moon grew round every year, and my understanding slowly did too.
In 2024, I officially registered on Binance. During my first KYC, my hands shook like I was meeting the in-laws. The first time I bought USDT, I stared at the confirmation page for three minutes, like signing a contract for life. The first time I withdrew to my wallet, I copied the mnemonic phrase three times and tucked it into an old book. The result was that we had a big house-cleaning— the book almost got sold off as scrap paper.
In 2025, I experienced volatility. I learned not to treat stories as candlesticks, and not to treat candlesticks as life. I started prioritizing security: two-factor authentication, a cold wallet, and not clicking links thoughtlessly. I also made some online friends. In our groups, everyone shares the moon, shares mooncakes, and says “hold steady.”
In 2026, the 9th Mid-Autumn Festival. The moon is still the same moon. The crypto world is no longer the one from back then. Binance is like the harbor where I formally boarded the ship, but the ticket isn’t for sudden riches—it’s for learning, risk awareness, discipline, and reverence.
This year is the 9th Mid-Autumn Festival I’ve spent with crypto, and also the 3rd Mid-Autumn Festival on Binance. From the sea, the bright moon rises; across the horizon, we share this moment. Wishing all crypto people: never forget your private key, keep your assets safe, plenty of mooncakes, and peace for your family. No soaring in a bull market, no panic in a bear market. At the next Mid-Autumn Festival, we’ll still be here—and be even more clear-eyed. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy Mid-Autumn Festival!
