$BTC An hour ago, it was at $84,000—within 24 hours the drop narrowed to 1.7%. Over in the U.S. stock market, though, things weren’t going well. The Nasdaq opened down 0.75%. The semiconductor memory space plunged along with it: Seagate fell 1.07%, Western Digital slid 3.28%, SanDisk dropped 3.18%, and Micron Technology fell 2.08%. Oracle also fell as much as 5.3%. Citing “force majeure” provisions, it tried to delay its payment obligations for a data center in New Mexico. The data center compute business is now also taking on a winter posture. Among crypto concept stocks, stablecoin issuer Circle rose 1.30% and stood out. Bitcoin holdings companies, crypto exchanges, and on-chain treasury firms were mixed, but none of them fell in line with the broader market. Crypto money isn’t syncing its moves with traditional compute power. Micron is also under an ITC investigation; we’ll look for any material impact in tomorrow’s pre-market session. With $BTC holding above $84,000, there’s still hope. If it breaks below $82,000, it will return to the trading range framework.
