US invites President Vladimir Putin to #G20 summit in Miami
The United States has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to attend the G20 summit in Miami in December. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced this at a briefing on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
“We have invited President Putin to the G20. We think it is a good opportunity for him to engage not only with President Donald Trump, but also with other world leaders. We hope he will accept the invitation,” Rubio said.
Russia grateful for invitation, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov says.
"Russia is grateful and appreciative of the invitation extended to President Vladimir Putin to attend the G20 summit, and the invitation will be considered", Dmitry Peskov said.
