I have a friend who tried trading futures contracts at first. He started with 10k and turned it into 60k within just a few days. At the time, he thought he was Warren Buffett, and making money seemed incredibly easy for him.

Even though he later lost all 60k due to overusing leverage, risking everything, and holding onto losing positions, he was already obsessed with the market.

He would stare at the market every day, neglecting eating and sleep, yet he would rush to enter faster than anyone else the moment an opportunity presented itself.

Honestly, futures are all about speed. With leverage reaching dozens of times, if you bet correctly on the market direction, your capital can grow massively. It’s faster than stock trading, more thrilling than gambling—you can make a lot of money, but you can also lose a lot.

Stock prices can swing by as much as 10% in a single day, and futures can fluctuate by 100% in one day. Once you taste success, you can only think about one thing: I’m going to get my position back. But the truth is that most people lose everything in the market before they ever get a chance to recover.

That’s why once you sign a contract, it’s hard to back out. It’s not because of greed, but because it’s so fast and so exciting—like a dream. The dream is beautiful, but the price is steep.

The market is always there, but your capital and opportunities may come only a few times
