Tomorrow is Mid-Autumn Festival. Generally speaking, at least one or two Mid-Autumn concept MEME coins with a market value of several million USD will usually emerge on-chain. But this year’s Mid-Autumn “token dragon” #1—Tǔtù—doesn’t seem to have much uncertainty anymore.
In terms of hype, since $玉兔 (Tǔtù) launched, it has been No. 1 on the Binance Web3 wallet ranking for four consecutive days, and it has basically stayed at the hot-search spot. It currently has over 1.2K in real Binance holdings, and the 玉兔 community on the platform has more than 500 members. Saying it’s the hottest community on the platform right now wouldn’t be an exaggeration.
In terms of narrative, the name “玉兔” is arguably the best fit among Mid-Autumn concepts. At the same time, it’s also an animal coin—and it even includes the zodiac narrative. Chinese animal coins like 龙虾 (lobster) and 牛来 (… “bull”/“come,” as an animal coin) came first. With Tǔtù potentially even listing Alpha later, and maybe even on Binance contracts and spot, it doesn’t seem impossible anymore.
On price, Tǔtù is currently basically moving sideways at around a 300K market cap. Turnover is frequent; when it dips, big holders step in to support. Its all-time high (ATH) is about a 680K market cap, which isn’t particularly high. If tomorrow the “big brother” or “big sister” in the market mentions it even a little, a 10x jump to a 3M market cap would be very achievable. Combined with the community’s current cohesion, there’s even more room for imagination.
The only slight issue is that Tǔtù itself has a 3% tax, and the developer of Tǔtù early on cashed out and is hard to reach. However, the Tǔtù community is currently in a CTO state, and the order book looks quite solid. There should be a way to resolve the tax issue.
