【BTC最大 technical risk exposed! Is quantum computing really coming? ⚠️】#量子计算

Bitcoin has recently shown another technical risk worth paying attention to.
Recently, the three major financial regulators in the European Union warned that, with the rapid development of quantum computing, powerful quantum computers in the future may be able to break some of the cryptographic techniques currently used in blockchain. More importantly, the regulators believe this risk could emerge before quantum computing is truly commercialized.
So, will quantum computers directly break BTC?
Don’t panic yet.
At present, there is no quantum computer capable of cracking Bitcoin.
The real issue is that the public keys of some old addresses or BTC addresses that have been reused have already been exposed on-chain. In the future, if quantum computers become powerful enough, in theory they could derive private keys from public keys, thereby taking control of the BTC within.
Data shows that around 6.9 million BTC may be in this potential risk situation, with a value of about $58.6 billion.
So the question is: Can Bitcoin be upgraded?
It can, but it’s not that simple.
In traditional financial systems, upgrading encryption algorithms and changing the rules is enough; but Bitcoin is a global consensus network. If it needs to switch to a signature scheme resistant to quantum attacks, the entire network must reach consensus, and the BTC in addresses at risk also needs to be migrated in advance.
📌 Therefore, what’s truly worth关注 is not “BTC will be broken by quantum computers anytime soon,” but whether the Crypto industry has enough time to complete a large-scale security upgrade.
And this isn’t science fiction for decades from now anymore—European regulators have already started requiring the financial industry to prepare for quantum security in advance.
