Binance will add Hyperliquid (HYPE) token to the spot market
On September 24 at 14:00 Moscow time, Binance will list the Hyperliquid (HYPE) token on the spot market. Trading pairs HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC, and HYPE/TRY will be opened for it. The token will receive a Seed Tag, which Binance uses to mark new and more volatile tokens.
⬜️ Hyperliquid has become the largest decentralized perpetual crypto futures (perp DEX) exchange by trading volume. The HYPE market capitalization exceeds $24 billion, and in less than two years the token has secured a spot in the top 10 largest cryptocurrencies.
▪️ Binance delayed the HYPE listing longer than other major exchanges. Hyperliquid has become one of Binance’s main competitors in the perpetual futures market, and the project founders have repeatedly traded public criticism.
For example, Jeff Yao accused Binance of understating liquidation volumes, and Changpeng Zhao, in one interview, when commenting on Hyperliquid’s success, said that he personally would definitely not have worked without KYC and “hopes they have good lawyers.”
▪️ When Binance added HYPE futures a year ago, the project description called it a “blockchain platform that improves the efficiency of DeFi applications”; Hyperliquid as an exchange and trading platform was not mentioned in the description.
