Tencent QClaw Announces Shutdown: Launched Only Half a Year Ago, Users Migrate to WorkBuddy
Tencent QClaw announced it will officially stop operations on December 24. Starting today, it will stop accepting new user registrations, subscriptions, and renewals. Existing users can still continue using the service. Unused paid subscriptions and points bundles can be refunded. After the service is discontinued in December, only data backups and migration will be retained; from March 24, 2027, user data will be deleted except where legally required to be kept.
QClaw is a local AI Agent built by Tencent Computer Manager’s team on OpenClaw. It only began closed beta on March 10 this year. It mainly focuses on directly using WeChat to remotely command a computer to handle files and carry out tasks. In April, Tencent also pushed QClaw to overseas markets. At Tencent Cloud’s AI conference in June, QClaw and WorkBuddy were still promoted simultaneously as two separate personal productivity Agent products. The change came in July. Tencent merged business related to the QClaw product center and part of the team into WorkBuddy’s Cloud Product Department Six. At the time, an internal notice also said, “The QClaw product will continue to operate.” Two months later, QClaw announced its shutdown.
Tencent has already added a “Migrate to WorkBuddy” entry on the QClaw official website. Users can transfer their configurations, memory, Agent persona, and conversation history. If the migration is completed successfully, users will receive 1,000 points.
