Crypto | Momentum Interpretation | September 24
When the mainstream is breaking down and the copycats are surging—this kind of divergence makes me hesitate to chase.
Brothers, today’s market action is quite split. $BTC saw a single bearish candle drop straight to 84200, down 2.6%; $ETH 2680, $SOL 114.9—everything is fully green. But when you open the 7-day momentum leaderboard, the scene changes completely:
The leading stock is up +561% over 7 days. And among the top names on the momentum list, there are still plenty jumping 50% to even doubling—I won’t call them out…
When old-timers see this mix of mainstream down and copycats up, the first instinct is to stay alert.
I also checked the volume ratio board: FLOCK’s volume ratio is up about 39 times, but it fell 28% in the past 24 hours. A sell-off on rising volume—that’s distribution, not a rally.
As for the momentum leader with a 5x gain over 7 days, 90% of the time it’s a low-liquidity pull-up. I used to get burned myself—chasing the 7-day upside, then catching the last baton, only for it to halve the very next day.
My take: wait and watch. Until the mainstream stabilizes, I won’t place a bet. Let’s see what happens when the broader market reclaims 85000.
Have you been chasing the momentum leaderboard lately? Drop a comment—did you end up getting burned? 🤔
