Australia's August employment data showed job gains above expectations, but the unemployment rate continued to rise. According to Sina Finance, the Australian dollar briefly fell below the closely watched 200-day moving average for the first time since November.

The Australian dollar fell as much as 0.3% to 0.7018 against the U.S. dollar, its intraday low since August 4, and slipped below the 200-day moving average at 0.7022. Three-year government bond yields rose 9 basis points to 5.03%, after earlier reaching 5.09%.
