Build AI workflows for a small team: first get the handover and data straightened out—this in itself is deliverable work.
In a Microsoft internal post on September 17, the Cloud Supply Chain team’s retrospective: first map and simplify the entire process, unify the data sources, and then deploy the Agent. The footnote clearly states the scope of the results: a five-month planning cycle from April to August 2026. Average time dropped from about 10 working days to less than 2.5 days.
These are Microsoft internal statistics. Behind the results, 150+ people across cross-functional teams were involved. You can’t use this to promise individual customers that they can save the same proportion of time.
My suggestion: pick one repeatedly performed task, clearly map the handover owners, data entry points, and waiting steps. When delivering, show the original time, the new time, and the number of rework iterations to the customer—then discuss expanding the scope. Don’t treat “AI generates in seconds” as completing the entire job.
