📰 CRYPTO NEWS
SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda revealed that the regulator abandoned numerous legal cases against crypto companies in early 2025 to avoid potential credibility issues in court. In other words, the SEC was getting into lawsuits it probably wasn’t going to win, and chose to back off before it was exposed. This confirms what many in the industry had been saying: that several of those lawsuits were more political pressure than solid legal cases. This shift marks a significant change in the stance of the world’s most powerful regulator toward the crypto ecosystem, opening the door to a more favorable environment for projects and exchanges that previously lived with the constant threat of legal action. It’s worth asking whether this change in the SEC’s attitude is the beginning of fairer and more predictable regulation, or simply a tactical pause that could be reversed and create new uncertainty in the market.
