Traditional banks are directly embedding a “crypto buying entry point” into their account systems, and such partnerships often carry more weight than slogans.
According to Bloomberg, Raiffeisen Bank International will partner with the broker Bitpanda to gradually roll out digital-asset purchase services to approximately 18 million customers in Central and Eastern Europe, while promoting the offering through its local subsidiaries. Bitpanda has also provided similar services to banks such as Germany’s N26.
This news is especially worth watching for two things: first, whether compliance on the banking side—if it really becomes an entry point—will actually boost the adoption of crypto assets; second, how the first batch of launch countries, the range of tradable assets, and risk-control requirements will be defined. 18 million seems more like a potential coverage ceiling—the real conversion will depend on the rollout pace. Are you more focused on banks making crypto buying a standard feature, or on the scope of the countries in the first rollout?
