CNBC reported that President Trump told the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday that reaching an agreement with Iran would come “directly after the elections,” saying the timing is logical in light of Iran’s anticipation of the midterm election results. He also revealed that his team has just wrapped up a three-hour meeting with representatives from Iran.
Brent crude fell to $99.25 on Tuesday, down 1%, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude held steady at $94.59, down 1.2%, marking the fifth consecutive day of declines, as oil prices fell by more than 4% over the week. By Wednesday, Brent crude rebounded to again surpass $100 and reach about $101.63, according to OilPrice.com, as markets revised their pricing based on Trump’s six-week window and the continued blockade of the Strait of Hormuz since February.
