Zondacrypto case: another former officer has been arrested, and the compliance string has been tightened again.
According to PANews citing Decrypt, Polish former police officer Artur K. was arrested for his involvement in the Zondacrypto cryptocurrency exchange case, which has been shut down. He is charged with participating in an organized crime group, assisting in misappropriating users’ funds, assisting computer fraud, and money laundering. When law enforcement searched his residence, they also seized documents related to the exchange’s operations.
Police also searched a fuel depot where Zondacrypto founder Sylwester Suszek was last seen before going missing in March 2022. Prosecutors characterized the case as unlawful deprivation of liberty, and other suspects were charged with removing the hard drives from the gas station’s surveillance cameras.
