【2017年那波ICO,我见过一模一样的剧本】

Everyone around me was talking about it, every group was spreading it, and the moment the new project’s whitepaper still hadn’t even been fully read, the private-sale allocation was already gone. Back then, everyone said this time was different—this time was a revolution.

So what happened later? A bunch of projects went to zero, but the ones that actually got things done survived—and the industry moved forward instead.

Now when I look at ENA, I have a very familiar feeling. Not because it’s up 45%—you can check the chart for that yourself. What I care about is something else:

The business logic behind the narrative—can it actually be implemented?

Why is the ENA narrative fermenting right now? Three reasons come together:

First, BTC’s market share is 58.7%, which suggests big money is in “risk-avoidance mode,” not launching a full-scale attack. In this situation, capital tends to look for niche tracks with a story.

Second, ENA has dropped 86% from its high. Valuation is lying in a severely oversold range. As long as the narrative has even a little substance, the upside elasticity will show.

Third, the sentiment index is 71 and still in the greed zone, meaning the market hasn’t gone fully crazy yet. Real big moves always start while people are still half skeptical.

But the question is—

If this really lands in practice, what does it mean?

Behind ENA is the NEAR protocol. I’ve actually run applications in the NEAR ecosystem. Honestly, the developer experience is much better than early Ethereum, but the ecosystem depth is still one step behind. If this ENA move is driven by the “AI + blockchain” narrative, then we have to see whether there are real application scenarios running—not just another whitepaper PPT.

My take: in the short term, it’s sentiment-driven, and that’s fine. Higher trading volume means there’s capital participating. But whether it can sustain—that requires waiting for a signal: whether real locked-in volume growth and real TVL data come out.

Whether the business logic holds will ultimately be decided by this.

A narrative without implementation data can at best prop itself up for two or three weeks. Only with real business data can it break into a second wave.

Do you think this ENA move is just a pure sentiment-driven hype, or is there really something solid behind it?
