Mars Finance News: On September 23, according to information recently released by China’s Ministry of Natural Resources, the 2026 first-half marine economy operation report shows that China’s total marine production value reached 5.5 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.1%. This also creates favorable conditions for the development of the underwater robotics industry. Recently, Shenzhen released (the list of key marine application scenarios in Shenzhen regulations for resource allocation) and rolled out 30 distinctive marine application scenarios. It specifically highlights proactively promoting the use of underwater thrusters and high-definition underwater photography robots in scenarios such as underwater sports, underwater sightseeing, and underwater filming. It also supports underwater robot technology services for emerging scenarios including deep-sea mining and deep-sea exploration. Benefiting from a mature technology framework, standardized solution sets, and the advantages of real-scenario validation, China’s underwater robotics industry is accelerating its global layout, with export efforts continually gaining momentum. A person in charge of an underwater robotics company told reporters that, by integrating and iterating with artificial intelligence technology, the company’s products have continued to expand into overseas markets. Its products have already been sold to more than 100 countries and regions, and overseas revenue accounts for over 90% of the company’s total revenue. In addition, as underwater robotics application scenarios continue to expand, demand in both domestic and international markets is rising rapidly, and R&D talent in subdivided fields is in short supply. Duan Xiaowei, Director of the Department of Marine Science and Technology Innovation and Cooperation Exchange at the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Ocean Development in Guangdong Province, analyzed that the main positions in tracks related to “underwater robotics +” include underwater robot operators, maintenance engineers, as well as R&D roles in underwater positioning and vision. For composite talent who both understands robot technology and is familiar with marine scenarios, the demand will be extremely large. (CCTV Finance)
